Baltimore, MD (September 21, 2016) - Governor Larry Hogan today met with executives of Roboteam Ltd., an Israeli-based robotics company, and discussed the growth of the company’s North American headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The company, which designs, develops, and manufactures a line of lightweight, fast-deployable unmanned ground systems for defense, law enforcement, and public safety missions, opened its offices in Bethesda in 2013 with 15 employees.
To accommodate rapid expansion, Roboteam relocated to Gaithersburg last year, and plans to create additional jobs in Maryland in the future. Among Roboteam’s customers are the top units of the U.S. military, including Special Forces, Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD), and SWAT teams, as well as other elite military units around the globe.
“We are excited about the growth of Roboteam in Maryland and the innovative work they are doing to support our military,” said Governor Hogan. “With access to key federal and military agencies and installations, as well as a highly-trained and highly-educated workforce, Maryland is the ideal place to ensure Roboteam’s continued success.”
